Travis Scott Is Being Sued After His Concert Resulted in 8 Deaths
This entire situation is so sad and my heart just breaks for the families of those who died…
In case you haven’t heard, 8 people died at Travis Scott’s Astroworld Concert last Friday.
According to reports, the uncontrolled crowd of 50,000 attendees along with Travis Scott’s direction for people to be rowdy, resulted in people being pushed, stomped on, injured and even killed.
Now, some concertgoers are suing Travis Scott as well as the entertainment company Live Nation and organizers ScoreMore and ASM Global.
Manuel Souza, who attended the Houston show on Friday, is one of the people suing after he suffered injuries during the concert. He says he:
“suffered serious bodily injuries when the uncontrolled crowd at the concert knocked him to the ground and trampled him.”
And according to the lawsuit, which was filed on Saturday, Nov. 6 in Harris County District Court and obtained by E! News, the tragic event was “predictable and preventable.”
Now, I know what you may be thinking, that it isn’t Travis Scott’s fault. However, many people have stated online that there is video evidence to show that Travis was aware of the serious injuries and death during his concert and did nothing to stop it.
In fact, some people have posted videos online of him chanting “Death, Death, Death” as paramedics gathered lifeless bodies from the venue.
While I don’t know WHO to point the blame at, I will say, this should show that having a concert of this size, shouldn’t happen.
And if it does, there needs to be better safety measures and protocols to ensure this never happens again.
