Check the frozen berries before you make that smoothie.
An October 2 FDA-posted recall expansion adds more Great Value frozen organic berries sold at Walmart and one lot of Trader Joe’s Organic Mixed Berry Blend because of potential E. coli O145:H28 contamination.
This is a lot-code recall, not a recall of every frozen berry bag under either brand. The quickest check is to match the product, UPC, lot code and date.

The Trader Joe’s product was shipped to select stores in 26 states, including Colorado, plus Washington, D.C. The Great Value products went to select Walmart stores in 30 states plus Puerto Rico.
What to do if your bag matches
The recall notice says consumers with one of the listed products and lot codes should not consume it. Discard it or return it to Walmart or Trader Joe’s for a full refund.
The company says this October 2 action expands earlier frozen-blueberry and berry-blend recalls following traceback information. If you checked your freezer during an earlier recall, compare the package again against this newest lot list.
