You Can Get Whiskey Filled Tide-Like Pods For a Boozy, Bite-Sized Treat
It’s like a tide-pod challenge for adults only a lot less toxic.
Jell-O Shots are pretty much the best invention ever. They are bite-sized boozy treats that taste good and look cute too.
But now, You Can Get Whiskey Filled Tide-Like Pods for the most adorable way to drink your booze and my life is forever changed.
The capsule-like shot is made by The Glenlivet and is a whiskey filled edible sac. Not going to lie, they do sort of look like Tide-Pods, ya know, the ones teens were eating for a disgusting and toxic challenge a few years back?
The capsule part is made from seaweed, which is apparently one of nature’s most renewable resources.
The seaweed casing is created by a sustainable packaging company called Notpla.
Each capsule is filled with 23 milliliters of Scotch whiskey for a quick, boozy bite-sized drink. The company refers to them as “glassless cocktails”.
Flavors include Citrus, Wood, and Spice.
The Glenlivet, the original Speyside single malt, has partnered with sustainable packaging company Notpla and cocktail legend Alex Kratena, to unveil a ‘Capsule Collection’ of glassless cocktails that break convention and redefine the way whisky is traditionally enjoyed.
Currently, the only way you to get your hands and mouth on some is to head to the England for the London Cocktail Week.
You can give these wild capsules a try by dropping by Tayēr where they are being served as “an amuse-bouche on arrival” throughout the event, which lasts until October 13.
The Glenlivet tells Food & Wine that the capsules are not yet available or approved for consumption in the United States, but wouldn’t be surprised if that changes in the near future.
