Hershey’s latest candy inspiration comes from a popular Valentines’ day dessert.

And if there’s anything that pairs well while celebrating the day of love, it’s chocolate.

Dubbed their Valentine’s Chocolate Dipped Strawberry Kisses, the sweets company is omitting the time it takes to make chocolate covered strawberries, so we can spend more time with our significant other.

Including a strawberry filled center that oozes with every bite, this bunch of Hershey’s kisses are the perfect sweet after a candle lit dinner.

Featuring chocolate covered kisses wrapped in red tinfoil, you’ll find that each kiss is decorated with tiny fruits that outline strawberries for a more creative Valentine’s day theme.

Thanks to their pre-made strawberry filled kisses, we also don’t have to worry about that melted chocolate mess!

We’ve always been taught that no two snowflakes are alike.

And, turns out, there’s photographic proof that no two flakes are, in fact, exactly the same.

Millions and billions of the feathery light flakes of snow float down from the sky — and each one of them is entirely different.

Kind of blows your mind, doesn’t it?!?

The man who first discovered this awesome snowflake phenomenon did so WAY back in 1885, when he became the first person to successfully photograph individual flakes.

 Wilson Bentley, a farmer from Jericho, Vermont, rigged up a microscope on his camera, and was able to capture these “snow flowers” on film.

It took him 3 years to get his special microscope camera correct, but when he did, a whole new world opened up.

Under the microscope, I found that snowflakes were miracles of beauty; and it seemed a shame that this beauty should not be seen and appreciated by others.

And, they are spectacular!

Something pretty cool that you might notice is that ALL the flakes have 6 sides. It’s the way water molecules form each and every time.

Every crystal was a masterpiece of design, and no one design was ever repeated. When a snowflake melted, that design was forever lost. Just that much beauty was gone, without leaving any record behind.

Mr. Bentley became known as “Snowflake” Bentley, because of his work with the snowflakes.

His photographs can now be seen at the historic Old Red Mill in Jericho, Vermont.

Not only are his photos found in Jericho, some of them are even a part of the Smithsonian Institution Archives.

I’m not going to lie, I cringe at how much “stuff” we just throw away.

Take Christmas lights for example, I swear we are replacing several strands every single year and that is so much waste. UGH.

Many hardware stores such as Home Depot and Ace Hardware have bins inside their store where you can dispose of Christmas lights for recycling.

The best thing to do is, call up your local Home Depot and ask where they keep their recycling light bin.

Each location may have specifics regarding what they accept, so it’s worth calling them ahead of time before hauling Christmas lights into your local store.

I am all for this so we can hopefully keep items like these out of the landfills.
