How To Make A Copycat Starbucks Iced Caramel Cloud Macchiato At Home
The Caramel Macchiato could possibly be the #1 most popular drink at Starbucks. From it’s soft vanilla tones to the creamy espresso and caramel mixture, what’s not to love?
Then Starbucks came out with the Caramel Cloud Macchiato…talk about game changer.
With many being stuck at home right now due to social distancing, you may be missing your go-to drink. But not to worry, we are here to help! We’ve started making DIY Starbucks drinks for you to make at home!
At Starbucks, the Caramel Cloud Macchiato is an espresso based drink. It is lightly sweetened with vanilla, and then layered with frothed milk with egg powder, espresso shots, and a cross-hatch of the infamous caramel drizzle.
These are the ingredients you will need to make a Caramel Cloud Macchiato from home:
- Milk (or your preference)
- Egg White Powder
- Vanilla Syrup
- Espresso
- Caramel Drizzle
- Ice
There are a variety of Vanilla Syrup and Caramel Drizzle options on Amazon, as well in your local grocery stores.
Starbucks is not able to sell their specific caramel drizzle, but they can sell a bottle of their vanilla syrup as long as they have enough in stock to make drinks, so never be afraid to ask for one!
If you have an espresso machine, you are good to go to make this drink 100%. There are some stovetop versions as cheap as $6 on Amazon! I would highly suggest purchasing one if you want to make Starbucks drinks from home, because many of the drinks require espresso.
You can purchase normal Espresso Beans from Amazon, Starbucks, or any regular grocery store, but you are not required to specifically use an ‘espresso’ roast.
I personally use Verona Blend for my espresso because i love the cocoa notes. If you normally order blonde shots, use the Veranda Blend. Grind them on ‘Espresso Grind’ at your local Starbucks or at home if you own a grinder.
To make the your foamy cloud milk, combine 2 tbsp vanilla syrup, 1 tsp egg white powder, and 1/2 cup of milk (preferably nonfat for consistency) into a mixing bowl or blender.
Either blend in a blender on the lowest setting or beat the ingredients on a medium setting in a bowl until your milk has a foamy cloud-like texture.
Pour the cloud milk mixture over ice, add 2 shot of espresso and a cross-hatch of caramel sauce. And you have your very own Iced Caramel Cloud Macchiato!
