I’m So Ready To Forget Virtual School Already

I’ve never been more happy or ready for a long holiday weekend in my entire life.

I have been walking the kids through virtual school for the last three weeks, and I’m beat down, tired, on the verge of crying, and am ready to kick the coronavirus to the curb, so we can get back to real, actual-factual school!

Who’s with me? Have y’all been having a frustrating time like me?

I don’t know if it’s because I’m dealing with a middle schooler, but you guys, this is so HARD.

I feel like I’m in school all over again — and y’all, I finished that mess a LONG time ago!

I mistakenly thought this virtual school thing wouldn’t be that big of a deal. I thought the kids would get a few assignments, and go to some fun websites to finish their work, and that would be it.

Netagory, good buddy. That is not how this thing works AT ALL.

Are y’all’s kids having to basically be attached to the computer all day long? My daughter has 6 different classes — therefore 6 different periods — which equals 6 hours of having to log into virtual classes.

I thought my son’s elementary school, with 2 solid hours of instruction in the morning, and then 2 hours of independent work in the afternoons was rough. It, however, is but child’s play — pun intended.

Are you guys using Google Classroom for your meets?

I thought it was going to be pretty straight forward — with a To-Do list and everything. But, as it turns out, you still have to go like 4 different places to find assignments. We are missing things right and left.

I feel like we are drowning, and slowly slipping under the water. I’m ready for a break from my kids’ school work!

So, I don’t know about you, but I’m ready for the weekend, to binge watch some Cobra Kai on Netflix, eat some hot dogs off the grill, and leave this school mess behind for a little bit.

Who’s with me? PLEASE — let me know in the comments that I’m not alone!
