Periods. I’m going to talk about them. Get over it.

Tampons and pads. I pretty much hate them, but they are a monthly necessity for everyone out there that menstruates, right?

There IS an alternative — the menstrual cup — have you tried it yet?

Side Note: You can read about our experiences with the Diva Cup HERE.

It’s a little awkward — and a lot of gross — but it’s supposed to be a really healthy, sustainable alternative to sticking a cotton/rayon-blend stick up your hooha.

But, inserting the cup is no joke. You have to stick it up there by hand. It’s messy, you have to be hella limber to get it in there comfortably, and did I mention — I’m messy when it comes to the cup!

Sunny Menstrual Cup To The Rescue

Never fear, a couple of women have come to our menstrual-cup-inserting rescue, and they deserve a medal — or a hug — or money. They can just take all my money now!

Cindy Belardo and Drew Jarvis, the co-founders of Sunny (a menstrual health company), recently spoke to BuzzFeed about a wicked handy new product that their company has invented.

Sunny

Get ready for this — it is a menstrual cup applicator!!

We all knew we needed this product, it just hadn’t been invented yet!!

I thought, you know, there must be a better way to [insert] this — especially because [the menstrual cup was] invented in the 1930s.

Drew Jarvis

So, this applicator is made to work with the Sunny Menstrual Cup. It’s NOT going to work with any other brand of menstrual cup.

But, that’s okay. You are going to WANT to get this Sunny Menstrual Cup and applicator!

One of the cool things about the Sunny cup itself is that it’s made out of a super soft, flexible material, and it’s actually thinner than most other cups are, so it fits inside the applicator. Other cups are a lot thicker and a lot more rigid, so to make an applicator that would deploy a cup [of that size] would be [beyond most] people’s comfort level.

Drew Jarvis

Hey — if the Sunny Cup works like other menstrual cups, plus it comes with an applicator you can use to insert the cup, I’m all for it!

This is going to be a game-changer for the world of menstrual cups!!

You Can Pre-Order The Sunny Menstrual Cup And Applicator

Now, you can’t actually get them quite yet.

They are, however, taking pre-orders for this reusable product. And, get this — it’s only 35 bucks for BOTH the cup and the applicator!!

Menstrual cups usually last for at least a year [and an] individual can wear a menstrual cup for up to 12 hours (depending on the flow) as it holds two to five times more liquid than a tampon.

UpWorthy

Do you know how much money you will save just from the fact that you won’t have to buy tampons?!?

The Sunny Menstrual Cup and Applicator are expected to be ready for sale by the end of 2022. But, you can go ahead and order it NOW so you can be one of the very first to try it out.

What do you think? Are you going to bite the bullet and start using a menstrual cup when it comes with an applicator?

Girl, I already preordered one for me, my sister, and my SIL. We are gonna do this thing!!
