We Are Getting A New Star Wars Movie From Taika Waititi. Here’s What We Know
I am giddy about this news!
There is a new Star Wars movie in the works, and it is going to be directed and co-written by my FAVORITE director, Taika Waititi.
First of all, news of a new Star Wars movie is HUGE, but add Taika Waititi to the mix, and it’s sure to be EPIC.
You may know some of Waititi’s other work. He directed Thor: Ragnarok — my FAVORITE Thor movie. You may also know him as the director of the season finale of Star Wars: The Mandalorian. He also just won an Oscar for his work on Jojo Rabbit.
Side note: If you haven’t seen Thor:Ragnarok — it is the FUNNIEST of the MCU movies. It is freaking HILARIOUS, and a MUST SEE!
If Waititi’s VOICE sounds familiar, that is because he was Krog in Thor: Ragnarok, and he voiced the droid who sacrificed himself to save Baby Yoda — The Child — in The Mandalorian.
They haven’t started work on this new Star Wars film as of yet — and ALL production schedules just got pushed back, because of the COVID-19 shutdown — so, we most likely won’t see this film for a couple years.
But, we DO know that this new Star Wars film is set to be released in theaters, instead of going directly to Disney+.
Waititi is still working on Thor: Love and Thunder, so this new Star Wars film will start production sometime after that.
But, knowing it is coming is enough for me! It gives us something super exciting to look forward to!
