Reynolds put pickle tail feathers on a Thanksgiving turkey. Actual pickle spears, fanned out behind the bird like it is dressed for a very specific holiday party.
The brand’s Big Dill Turkey announcement arrived October 27 as the tenth installment of its Trending Turkey campaign. This one is a recipe to make at home, rather than a ready-made turkey to order.
The pickles go beyond the decorations
The turkey gets a pickle-juice brine, a seasoned dill butter rub, fresh dill and pickle chips. Then those spears become the tail feathers. The official photo commits to the theme right down to the pickle-patterned table linens.
Plan ahead if you want to make it
Reynolds’ full recipe lists 50 minutes of preparation, plus 6–18 hours of refrigerated brining and 2½–4 hours of cooking, depending on the method. It includes foil-tent and oven-bag options, so read the complete instructions before choosing your setup.
The pickle feathers are the funny part. Finding refrigerator space for a turkey in brine is the part to figure out before Thanksgiving morning.
