I know, 2020 was a weird freaking year. Some of you got back to the basics of life with baking bread, growing a garden, and even getting chickens. Pretending that we’re living some modern version of ‘Little House on The Prairie’.

Thing is, we can do that and still look modern. I mean I do it, I may not be super trendy, but I’m at least still kickin’ 1990s style which is still acceptable these days.

Apparently, Target took all of the back to basics stuff way too seriously. They think we really want to revert back completely to the days out on the prairie wearing prairie dresses.

I mean, yea it’s fun and cute for a costume or a themed photoshoot. However, this is a bit much… especially to spring this on us in such uncertain times.

Hey, if there are people that like it and want to wear it… that’s great! I have no hate for someone dressing the way they want to dress. I just don’t believe that there is a high demand for prairie dresses right now.

But, y’all tell me. I want to know what you think of Target targeting us with the back to the prairie dress. Are you into it? Did you buy one?

Target

I actually asked one of my photo clients to pick one up so we can do a fun photo shoot. If you want one, you can buy it from Target. Oh, don’t forget, there is a ‘Little House on The Prairie’ reboot in the works too!

  1. Just a marketing gimmick, the more people talk about this the more money they make off of people! Just like all the rest of the stupid clothing from the past it will also fade away. But the CEO’s and fly by night designers will make money off of it.so just buy what you like for you and leve the ugly stuff on the rack!!!

  2. I love these dresses. I went out and purchased three of them. I’ve always been a fan of laura Ashley Gunne Sax, and a huge fan and of Little House On The Prairie, so naturally I had to get myself a few when I saw them. I like to rock them belted and pair them with a pair of cowboy boot. They’re not for everyone, but I love them.

  3. Vintage fashion, not vintage values. 🙂 Frankly, I’m really enjoy lounging in my Seattle apartment in full prairie-punk while working. It’s all about how you style ’em, but I’ve always wanted to look like an extra on the set of Firefly. XD

  4. Not even a super model would look good in these dresses. Yuck! What were the buyers thinking?!
