Trader Joe’s Is Selling $6 Air Purifying ‘Crispy Wave’ Ferns And I’m On My Way
I simply LOVE Trader Joe’s. Just walking into that place, I know I’m going to find too many things that I can’t live without. I’m looking at YOU, Sparkling Watermelon Juice!
I am always a sucker for the plants that are there at the front door as you walk in. When I went today, they had the most BEAUTIFUL succulents, but what really caught my eye were these Japanese Asplenium nidus ferns — the Crispy Wave plant.
The first thing I saw were those beautiful wavy leaves, that looked almost like green bacon. Then, I noticed the sign on them that said, “Natural Air Purifiers.” I thought, “Hmmm. That’s pretty awesome.”
Then I read the small print on the tag. There was a website for this “Natural Air Purifier” plant. I was intrigued, so of course I logged onto my iPhone, and went right to the site.
OMG! It has EVERYTHING you ever wanted to know about this “King of Ferns.” Anyone who knows me, knows I have the OPPOSITE of a green thumb. I can look at a plant wrong, and it will die. This website is here to help! It has all kinds of tips and tricks for keeping this little guy alive!
It also tells you everything you want to know about this beautiful tropical plant! For example, this Crispy Wave plant is completely safe for animals, and it will keep on growing indefinitely if you plant it in a large container.
The fronds’ thickness and rigidity allow the Crispy Wave to filter harmful particles such as formaldehyde from the air to a higher degree.
Aerify Plants
The waviness of the Crispy Wave’s fronds increases its actual surface area compared to other ferns.

That was it. I was hooked. I had to have this beautiful “Crispy” Fern! It’s not only beautiful, it can actually help improve my quality of life. And, BONUS, this little fern is only $5.99 at Trader Joe’s. I got two.
We are going to become great friends, these little Japanese Asplenium nidus ferns and I! Treat them right, and we could have a long life together, complete with clean and purified air. That sure makes me breathe just a little easier.
You can get your own Crispy Fern — or Japanese Asplenium nidus — at Trader Joe’s. They have them right at the door, with all the other plants. There is usually a table of adorable little succulents, and they are right near those.
While you are there, you have GOT to try this Pickle Popcorn that Trader Joe’s carries! I picked up a giant bag of this popcorn, at the same time I got my little ferns. I can’t believe how much it actually tastes like dill pickles, and — wait for it — it’s less than 2 bucks!!
