When you think of ‘Winnie the Pooh’ I’m sure you think of the cuddly bear that loves his honey and his friends.

There are no thoughts of blood and murder right?

Well, that has all changed and you may be wondering how on earth would ‘Winnie the Pooh’ become a horror film…

According to Temple University, since ‘Winnie the Pooh’ became public domain, the character can be used by anyone.

Disney does still own their specific version of ‘Winnie The Pooh’, however other people can now use the character legally in an altered version.

Disney could still pursue legal action over ‘Winnie the Pooh: Blood and Honey’. if they think they can prove that the characters share too close of a resemblance.

In fact, they once went the legal route with a comic book company over ‘Howard the Duck’ saying that he looked too much like ‘Donald Duck’ and they won and the character had to be changed.

So yea, there is going to be a slasher-style film coming out where ‘Winnie the Pooh’ is not your cuddly friend anymore.

I thought it was a joke at first until I saw the IMDb page and some still shots from the movie.

‘Winnie the Pooh: Blood and Honey’ will be a “retelling” of the story, but horror-themed according to Dread Central

There isn’t a ton of information available about the film, but you can see a scary version of ‘Piglet’ in the images, but I have no idea if the rest of the gang is in on the horrors.

We do know that Rhys Frake-Waterfield is listed as the director of the film and you can see some images posted on his Instagram stories.

As of now, there is not a release date listed, but yea… I’ll have to watch it when it comes out.
