Yes, that’s right! I have another spooky place to share! So far we have visited Dracula’s Castle, the Catacombs in Paris, The Winchester Mystery House, and Chernobyl!

Now we get to head to the Stanley Hotel! The Shining is one of my favorite movies!

The Stanley Hotel is the hotel that inspired the Overlook Hotel in Stephen King’s ‘The Shining’.

The Stanley Hotel opened way back in 1909! It is located in Estes Park, CO and at one time was a big deal.

Back then electricity wasn’t available everywhere. But the Stanley Hotel offered electric lights, bathrooms in the suites, and even telephones.

Around the 1970s the place started to fade a bit. Until of course, Stephen King spent spent the night. Using this hotel as the inspiration of the Overlook Hotel for his book.

‘The Shining’ was Stephen King’s third published novel and first hardback bestseller! I would love to spend a few days there! But for now, a virtual tour will have to suffice!
