Disney just donated 150,000 of their iconic rain ponchos to MedShare, a humanitarian organization that will distribute them to hospitals in need.

If you have been to the parks on a rainy day — which is just about EVERYDAY during the summer — you have, WITHOUT A DOUBT, experienced these ponchos.

You may be asking, “What in the world is a rain poncho going to do to combat this virus?”

Nurses, doctors, and other first responders, can use these rain ponchos OVER their PPE (Personal Protective Gear), to protect the small supply of gowns they have. It will make their stash of protective gowns go a lot further.

The COVID-19 pandemic is unlike anything we’ve seen before — We have to find ways to pool our resources and work together to help the healthcare workers who are doing their very best to treat patients and contain COVID-19. We appreciate Disney partnering with us to support hospitals and healthcare workers on the frontlines.

According to the Disney Parks Blog, “Disney Parks also recently donated more than 100,000 N95 masks to the states of New York, California and Florida.”

Disney is also looking for more ways they can help give back to anyone who needs it during this difficult time.

Disney also recently donated a BUNCH of food from their Disneyland park and resorts. They are working with Second Harvest Food Bank to get food out to people in need.
