Nicholas Cage Is Going To Play Joe Exotic In An Upcoming TV Series And I Can’t Wait
Y’all!! It’s happening!! A scripted television series about Joe Exotic is in the works, and it is set to star Nicholas Cage.
The series is set to be an 8-episode television series, and it is going to be produced by Imagine Television Studios and CBS Television Studios.
The TV show will be based on a Texas Monthly article, and not the Netflix docuseries — but I’m hoping they closely follow each other.
I need more of the train wreck that is Joe Exotic!
The show is still in pre-production, but we know that Nicholas Cage is set to play the lead.
CBS Television Studios optioned the project from Dan Lagan(a) and Paul Young through Lagana’s overall deal in June 2019. Lagana will write, be the showrunner, and executive producer the series. Young will executive produce on behalf of Make Good Content.

I probably don’t need to tell you anything about the Tiger King at this point.
We all know Joe exotic ran a zoo-type establishment, called Greater Wynnewood Exotic Animal Park, in Oklahoma, and it was home to a bunch of big cats — among other exotic animals.
You also know that Joe Exotic is a tiger cult-leading, magician and country music singing wanna be, homosexual polygamist, convicted of animal cruelty and murder for hire, currently for which he is serving 22 years in prison.
Did I miss anything?
This new series starring Nicholas Cage is set to be the SECOND upcoming series based on the bizarre story surrounding Tiger King, the first being a scripted show starring Kate McKinnon as Carol Baskin.
I’m just going to be over here, giddy and waiting for BOTH scripted series to fall right into our laps from the television gods.
