Starbucks Just Announced They Will Require All Customers To Wear Masks Nationwide
Businesses all around are opening back up and trying to get back into a normal routine. But many are still requiring certain precautions when it comes to the safety of their employees and customers.
Starbucks is now leading the way on one of the most controversial topics when it comes to our current safety.
Starbucks is set to be the first national restaurant chain to require all employees AND customers to wear masks upon entry of the store.
Some stores (including mine) are already enforcing this rule, but this will become a nationwide requirement starting July 15th.
The giant coffee chain announced on Wednesday their plans of requiring masks. This makes history with this being the first restaurant company to step forward with such requirements.
Reggie Borges, a Starbucks representative, spoke with Business Insider on Thursday stating:
“In our continued effort in prioritizing the health and well-being of partners (employees) and customers, beginning on July 15, we will be requiring customers to wear facial coverings while visiting all company-owned cafe locations in the US.”
Many states and cities are already requiring the public use of masks, but this marks the first national franchise to do so. Other businesses enforcing this nationwide are Apple, Costco, and H-E-B. We expect many more to follow.
Customers who refuse to wear a mask will not be refused, but instead be asked to order through the drive-thru, or use the mobile order option and have their drink brought out to them.
Unfortunately with many “Anti-Maskers” coming forward and causing problems in stores, I feel bad for the Starbucks employees as they have to navigate through this very large and public decision.
I am not a fan of wearing a mask myself, but please remember if you happen to be protesting masks, that these people who are serving you are not in charge of the rules and they are just following their store’s policy. So please by kind to the customer service industry and take your complaints to the actual corporation.

Wearing masks in Starbucks all along! What is the big deal for the rest of the states. I am in CA! Wear the mask dammit!??
