This AI Camera Has No Lens But Uses Info About Your Location To Generate An Image

What if I told you there was a camera that didn’t use a lens to take a picture? What if I told you this “camera” used data about your location and various AI tools to come up with a picture?

Yep. We are living in a strange world, my friends.

Enter Paragraphica. It is a new kind of camera — it feels weird calling it a camera — that ups the AI game.

Side Note: Does anyone feel like AI might take over the world? I’m a little scared.

So, you point this camera at a scene — maybe a street, or a yard, perhaps the beach you are standing on for vacay.

Apparently, Paragraphica uses information about your location, the weather, the date, the time, etc. to generate an AI photo of what you are looking at.

No, it won’t be exactly what you are looking at in real life, but it will be kind of a guess on the part of the AI program. And, it can get pretty darn close.

How it works, according to the Pragraphica website: “On the camera, there are three physical dials that let you control the data and AI parameters to influence the appearance of the photo, similar to how a traditional camera is operated.”

The viewfinder displays a real-time description of your current location, and by pressing the trigger, the camera will create a scintigraphic representation of the description.

It’s actually kind of crazy how well this works. It actually captures a “moment” in time, and not just a physical photo of what you see.

Utilizing the address, weather, time of day, and nearby places. (Combining) all these data points Paragraphica composes a paragraph that details a representation of the current place and moment.

The Paragraphica camera is in the prototype phase, but it also exists as a virtual camera that you can access and try out for yourself.
