Ok, so I love soda… however, I had no idea what a dirty soda was until now. I mean, I’ve had a dirty chai latte, but a dirty soda… huh?

Since I had never heard the term before, I decided to look it up on Wikipedia for a quick summary.

Dirty soda is a drink consisting of soda “spiked” with cream and flavored syrups or fruit juices. The drink has been described as “alcohol-free mocktails with optional flavor, cream and fruit add-ins”.

The dirty soda became popular in the mountain states region of the United States in the 2010s, and in the 2020s began to expand to a national consumer base. Dirty sodas are often sold at drive-through restaurants.

Well, after reading that description it seems that I have indeed had a dirty soda when I order a Sprite with cream and fruit flavoring at the local Sonic.

I have to admit when I first saw it I thought this was a Dr. Pepper flavored creamer with coconut and lime added that was meant to put in your coffee and I may have slightly dry-heaved.

Thankfully, I was completely wrong and this is not intended for your coffee! It was actually created to pour over an ice-cold glass of Dr. Pepper!

I’m not really a Dr. Pepper fan, but I have to admit that I am interested in giving it a try to see what the hype is all about.

The modern coffee drinker demands more from their brands – more flavor, more indulgence, and more opportunities to experiment with their favorite coffee products. Coffee mate is embracing exploration for any time of day.

We are excited to collaborate with Dr Pepper® merging the worlds of coffee creamer and soda, making it easy to make the viral Dirty Soda trend that’s taken the world by storm. We know that Coffee mate fans love Dr Pepper® so we’re excited to introduce this iconic partnership as an easy way for our brands to deliver the convenience of flavor and fun at home.
