Mango Salsa
The first time someone tried to offer me mango salsa, I turned it down flat. I like my salsa spicy and red, thank you very much. Then it happened again. And again. It was that third time that I finally gave in and tried it. Whoa, buddy! I don’t know what made me hold off in the first place, but sweet mango and spicy jalapeño are built for each other. Seriously, the fresh sweetness of in-season fresh mango pared with that delicious bite of jalapeño is like tasting summer on a chip. Or on a fish taco. Seriously, you have to try this stuff on a fish taco…you’ll thank me later. Enjoy!
What You Need To Make Mango Salsa:
- 2 mangos, diced
- 1/2 cup red onion, diced
- 1/4 cup cilantro, finely chopped
- 2 jalapeños, chopped
- 1/3 cup lime juice
- salt and pepper to taste
How To Make Mango Salsa:
In a medium sized glass, combine all ingredients and stir thoroughly.
Let sit for at least 20 minutes, or for a more robust flavor cover and refrigerate overnight.
Enjoy!
Pro Tip: For a fun variation you can mix other fruits into the mix. Try adding peaches or pineapple or both for a delicious taste that is surprisingly fresh. Enjoy!
