Michael Gambon, Who Played Dumbledore in the Later Harry Potter Movies, Has Died

This is a sad day for Harry Potter Fans…

News just broke that actor Sir Michael Gambon, best known for playing Fumbledore in the later Harry Potter Movies, has died. He was 82 years old.

Michael Gambon was famous for his role as Albus Dumbledore in 6 of the 8 “Harry Potter” films including:

  • Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire
  • Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban
  • Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince
  • Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows: Part 1
  • Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows: Part 2
  • Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix

The news of his passing was confirmed when a statement by his family, was issued by his publicist.

His cause of death was said to be following “a bout of pneumonia.”

“We are devastated to announce the loss of Sir Michael Gambon. Beloved husband and father, Michael died peacefully in hospital with his wife Anne and son Fergus at his bedside,” his family said.

This is truly such sad news and he will certainly be missed!
