Here’s Why There May Never Be A ‘Nightmare Before Christmas’ Sequel
‘The Nightmare Before Christmas’ has pretty much been a holiday tradition for me since it first came out.
Unlike other holiday movies, this one works for both Christmas as well as Halloween and that isn’t something you get very often in a movie.
It’s totally become a cult classic, new fans being added in every single year as younger people finally watch the movie.
So many have hoped for a sequel, including myself, however, Danny Elfman doesn’t see it ever happening.
Danny Elfman is the genius composer behind ‘The Nightmare Before Christmas’ and also Jack Skellington’s singing voice.
According to Danny Elfman, Tim Burton doesn’t really seem into making a sequel, and without the Danny Elfman and Tim Burton combination of talent… it would never work.
I don’t think so. I think Tim has always felt that no, this is what it was.

Danny Elfman would totally be down for a sequel though and hopes that it could happen someday.
But you know, it wouldn’t totally shock me if he came back with… If he had a fresh take on it, I would certainly go for the ride with him. But he’s never expressed any interest in that. I think he felt like this was a pure thing and it was what it was and that to try to do sequels on it would, I think it’s just not inspired him. But I won’t ever speak for Tim. It’s his universe.
