Pepsi Releases Nitro-Infused Soda. Here’s When You Can Get It.
Pepsi just announced a new product that is the very first of its kind!
They have created a nitrogen-infused cola and it’s called Nitro Pepsi!
Nitrogen infusion has been used in coffee drinks as well as beer, but Pepsi apparently said why not soft drinks too?
It seems that the infusion of nitrogen in the drink gives you a smoother and creamier taste compared to normal carbonated soda drinks.
The biggest challenge for Pepsi was figuring out how to make it happen in a canned drink, they did it!
They looked at how Guinness did it with its canned beer and used a widget in the bottom of the can that releases the nitrogen when you pop open the can.
When you open Pepsi’s new Nitro Cola, it will have a foamy head, similar to a Guinness beer.
They said that it is best served in a glass over ice with no straw.
- Best served cold, ideally without ice
- Best “hard poured” or fully inverted into a tall glass
- Best enjoyed sipped directly from the glass (rather than through a straw), allowing the unique foam head to leave a frothy, foamy mustache
The whole idea behind Nitro Cola from Pepsi is to create something for those that do not like carbonated drinks.
While soda has been a beverage of choice for so many consumers over the past century, some people still cite heavy carbonation as a barrier to enjoying an ice-cold cola. Nitro Pepsi is a huge leap forward for the cola category and will redefine cola for years to come.
Todd Kaplan, Pepsi’s vice president of marketing, said in a press release
The new Nitro Pepsi releases on March 28th, 2022, and will be available in regular as well as vanilla flavors!
