This Free Tool Helps Make Sure You Receive Your Stimulus Check
I am sure that by now you know that the government approved the Stimulus Checks. I’m also sure you are wondering when you will get it, because let’s be honest…things are TIGHT!
Well, TurboTax launched the ‘TurboTax Stimulus Center’ in partnership with the IRS. This will help you get your check as fast as possible.
So many people are out of work right now because their jobs have been deemed non essential. I’m also affected by this shut down because as a photographer I am non essential. As much as I would love to believe that my services are essential, they really are not.
Thankfully my husband is still able to run our other business and I am still working online. But it does take a toll losing out on my spring shoots.
Thankfully the Stimulus Check will help! The coronavirus stimulus relief package (the CARES act) was passed by our government on March 27th, 2020. All eligible taxpayers should start receiving the checks soon.
The IRS will use information from your 2019 tax return to make the payments. If you did not file for 2019 yet, they will use your 2018 tax return.
Some people will need to register with the IRS to get their checks. That is where TurboTax can help! The free website can help you know what to expect.
If you were not required to file a tax return this year or last year, you need to head over to the TurboTax Stimulus Center right now. From there you can register to get your stimulus check.
You can also use the calculator to calculate if you qualify for the stimulus check and how much you would be getting.
Most of us will not need to do anything to receive our checks.
To be clear, if you filed taxes in 2019 or 2018 you are good to go. If you did not file either year, then you need to register.
You can register for free on TurboTax’s stimulus portal.
If you have not filed this year, you have until July to do so with the extension. But, it isn’t necessary to file your 2019 taxes right away to receive your stimulus check.
