This ‘Love Is Blind’ Parody Is Trying To Help People Find Love While Self-Isolating
With mandatory social distancing and isolation, it’s easy to feel alone. Especially for those who are single and ready to mingle.
Dating life has seemed to come to a stand-still ever since the outbreak.
Sure, there are dating sites around, but you have to sift through so many messages and fake people to get anywhere. And then you can’t even go on a date!
But two roommates from Brooklyn think they have a solution. Thi Q. Lam and Rance Nix have created their own version of the hit series “Love is Blind.”
They have created an online dating project called “Love is Quarantine” to help fight the boredom during this time and help create some human connection in spite of what is going on in the world around us.
“[People are] lonely, they’re looking for connection, they’re looking for community, and most importantly, they’re looking for love,” Lam, 27, told CNN, “That doesn’t stop during a pandemic. People still want love, and we’re going to try our best to make that happen.”
In “Love is Quarantine”, people can sign up on Google Sheets by providing basic information. Once contestants are chosen, they go into “pandemic pods.”
They are introduced via texting and after a lot of conversation can choose to go on their first date via phone call.
This is a raw, unfiltered, and refreshing thing to see during this time of self-isolation.
You can sign-up for Love Is Quarantine Here.
Be sure to check it out for some fun while you’re stuck at home!
