I wish I could just get rid of TV…

We never watch it anymore… we turn it on sometimes, but really… TV for us is just a waste of cash. I am not saying I don’t watch shows or anything, I just choose to watch them through hulu.com or buy them on iTunes, etc.

I think the only reason in my life I can think of for not getting rid of the television all together is that my three year old watches it in the middle of the day for her ‘break.’ (She stopped taking naps long ago, but still gets tired, so we turn on the television so that she will sit quietly and rest.) I think we would miss the pause, rewind stuff… but I dunno… is it worth the amount of money it costs? I mean with DVR’s and then cable and all that I think it is like 60 or 70 dollars a month…

I have been thinking about with the home phone too… we don’t really need those… and we are just paying for them, and for what? Just a peace of mind type thing? I wish my verizon bill was broken up a little better so I could tell what was what and I could figure out just how much we would be saving to just get rid of it all…

  1. Just popping over here from the blogher ads link…

Crazy, we just got rid of our cable and home phone for very similar reasons. We are saving over $150 per month and no one in the house misses it one bit. I highly recommend it!
