In high school, I was in the Chess Club. Do I know how to play chess? Nope. Did I know how to play chess then? Nope. I wanted to learn, but the rules just never stuck in my brain.
That does NOT stop me from having a decorative chess set in my house. Of course, that COULD have to do with the fact that my husband is a giant nerd. Not that that’s a bad thing — I married him, didn’t I?
I DO love succulents. They are more my speed than an impossible-to-learn game of chess! And, The are freaking adorable, so there’s that.
I would really be down to get THIS Succulent Chess Set. It’s not only beautiful, it’s quirky and unique!
It gives me an excuse to have even MORE succulent plants around the house, and the hubster can’t complain, because I’ll say it’s HIS chess set. Ha!
The design of this set is Bauhaus Style Chess. That was a movement from the 1920’s that was über popular. It has to do with clean lines, and squares, rectangles, and spheres. You’ll see that the succulent chess set resembles this Bauhaus style.
Now, the set comes with the 3D printed chess pieces — but, it’s up to YOU to supply the plants. You can use a little potting soil in each piece, and then plant baby succulent seeds, or maybe some fresh herbs — something that can distinguish each piece would be good.
The board is a 4-piece set, and the size when all 4 pieces are put together is 260mm by 260mm. For those of us who have NO IDEA how big those metric numbers are, that’s just over a 10-inch square.
