Weeds. Nobody likes them yet everyone has them (at least at some point).

And no, I am not talking about the good weed, I am talking about those pesky weeds that spread like wildfire in your garden and lawn if you don’t put an end to them.

Well, if you’ve got weeds, I’ve got a solution – Corn Meal.

I know it sounds weird, but hear me out…

Yes, people have been using corn meal as a way to keep weeds from germinating.

Apparently, you just sprinkle it in your garden or anywhere you want to keep weeds from growing and bam, they just stop growing.

It’s basically magic.

Does this actually work?

Well, Researchers at Iowa State University discovered by accident that cornmeal gluten acts as a natural herbicide while they were doing disease research.

So, instead of spraying harmful chemicals on the weeds, you can use corn meal.

You will want to make sure you use Cornmeal gluten, commonly referred to as corn gluten meal (CGM) and sprinkle it around the areas where weed seeds may be.

It doesn’t kill plants/weeds that have already grown but it does kill the seeds so it prevents new weeds from growing.

Cool, right?

I am totally giving this a try especially since I have kids and pets I’d rather keep the harmful chemicals away from.
