Have you watched any of the episodes of Netflix’s ‘The Program‘? I’m currently still trying to get through them, it’s hard to watch.

‘The Program: Cons, Cults, and Kidnapping’ is a docuseries that is currently available to watch on Netflix.

There is a lot of trauma relived and exposed in the show and it can be difficult to watch.

I do not relate to anything these people experienced and it was hard for me to watch, I can only imagine how hard it is for those who have suffered the types of abuse discussed and shown.

In the first episode they found a box of old security camera footage and they play this on the show. The things captured on video are very hard to see.

The worst of the abuse took place in a room with no camera, but the victims still describe it and it’s awful. I can’t even imagine going through that!

So if you haven’t watched ‘The Program: Cons, Cults, and Kidnapping’, here are your trigger warnings in advance:

  • Physical abuse
  • Sexual abuse
  • Psychological
  • Brainwashing

Netflix has this docuseries listed as being appropriate for ages 15 and up, but I would say use your best judgment. Not every 15-year-old can handle and process things the same way.

Ivy Ridge was advertised as a disciplinary boarding school for “problem teens”. Most of these kids didn’t even do anything warranting a need for a disciplinary school.

I don’t even know if you can really call it a school, the education was lacking but the abuse was real. Let’s call it a school of horrors and abuse.
