Netflix’s New True Crime Docuseries Will Make You Wonder Why Some People Are Allowed to Have Kids

I don’t watch a ton of television, but when I do… it’s usually true crime.

Yesterday as I was looking for something to have on in the background while I worked, I found a new true crime docuseries on Netflix.

The goal was background noise, but it pulled me and of course, I didn’t get any work done.

This docuseries consists of 3 one hour long episodes. So far I have watched the first and I plan to finish the entire series this week.

I hadn’t seen anyone talking about it so I didn’t even know it existed, so here I am to let you know what to add to your watch list.

It’s currently one of the top shows currently streaming on Netflix.

Katherine Kubler attended a “boarding school”, if you can even call it that, called the Academy of Ivy Ridge from 2004-2005.

This is her first time directing and it’s a story that she lived, along with many others. The things these kids went through… man… it’s rough.

Emotional abuse, mental abuse, physical abuse… literal brainwashing was going on there. You’ll need tissues.

Honestly, it makes you wonder how some people are even allowed to have kids after the stuff they put their kids through…

They went to the Academy at Ivy Ridge which had been closed since 2009 and found files and even security camera footage.

In the files and on the camera footage there was the proof of what these people (just teens & children at the time) went through.

It’s a pretty emotional show to watch, but it is necessary to know that these things go on.

Many of the parents were clueless as to what was really happening.
