Damar Hamlin Is Sedated And On A Ventilator. Here’s What We Know.
Damar Hamlin’s uncle says that the athlete is sedated and on a ventilator.
It was a scary scene.
The world watched as 24-year-old Damar Hamlin was being revived after he suffered a cardiac arrest and collapsed in the middle of Monday night’s game against the Bengals.
According to reports, Damar had a heart attack after he tackled Bengals receiver Tee Higgins during the first quarter of the game. He had to be resuscitated on the field.
It was a freakish accident where Damar was hit just hard enough, in just the right spot on his chest, and it sent his heart into arrest.
Damar stood up after the tackle, like everything was fine and normal.
Then he fell backwards, and the scary moments started while the medical personnel worked to revive his heartbeat.
He was then taken to the hospital where he was listed in critical condition.
NOW, his uncle, Dorrian Glenn, is speaking out and letting us all know that Damar is sedated and on a ventilator.
They sedated him just to give a better chance for him to just continue to heal better — We are just taking it day by day. It seems like he’s trending upwards in a positive way.

Medical personnel also have Dorian “flipped over on his stomach.” This is in an effort to help with the blood supply to his lungs and to take pressure off his heart.
It’s just heartbreaking seeing him like that — I’m not a crier, but I’ve never cried so hard in my life. Just to know like my nephew basically died on the field and they brought him back to life.
