Band-Aid Has Released A New Line Of Bandages To Better Blend With A Range of Skin Tones

You might remember back in June of 2020 when Johnson & Johnson’s Band-Aid brand announced that they would be creating adhesive band-aids to match more skin tones.

That day is finally here!

Most of Johnson & Johnson’s Band-Aid selection are for those with lighter skin tones and because of that, people have petitioned for more options and have made a brand for darker skin tones a reality.

Band-Aid has most recently released the new Ourtone line of adhesive bandages in multiple shades of brown including three different shades ranging from lighter brown to dark brown.

You can expect each box to come with 30 bandages with assorted sizes and and flexible fabric for up to 24 hours of usage, according to Band-Aid.

“When we first talked about it nine months ago, it was in response to [the fact] that we didn’t feel we were moving enough,” Dawn Hampton, vice president of marketing, Consumer Experience Organization, told Essence. “This collection at its core is so important to us because we really always have been anchored in care and we strive to be inclusive.”
