Doja Cat Showed Up to The Met Gala Looking Like An Actual Cat

It’s that time again… Met Gala 2023 is here.

Now, in case you don’t know, The Met Gala is an annual fundraiser held for New York’s Metropolitan Museum of Art’s Costume Institute.

The Met Gala theme this year is titled Karl Lagerfeld: A Line of Beauty and the collection honors the life and legendary career of the late designer who died in February 2019.

The dress code simply says “In honor of Karl,” leaving the design choices mostly up for interpretation for those attending and their stylists.

With that being said, things tend to get weird in the costume space and this year is no exception.

Rapper and Musical Artist Doja Cat showed up to the Met Gala actually looking like a cat and some people are raising their eyebrows…

However, those that know about Karl Lagerfeld and his career know that her cat suit was actually very meaningful..

As it turns out, Karl Lagerfeld has a Birman cat named Choupette who has won the hearts of many after years of being by Karl’s side throughout his career.

Unfortunately, Choupette was unable to attend the Met Gala but that didn’t stop celebrities such as Doja Cat and Jared Leto from dressing up as Choupette in honor of her and her late father.

Doja Cat even had the cat claws to prove it…

So, while some believe this is a weird outfit, others are loving it!

I will say, Doja Cat sure can pull off the cat look!
