Britney Spears told the world she was changing her name, and then she deleted her Instagram account, and her fans can’t handle it.

Yep. 2023 has been a bit — shall we say “shaky” — for the pop star, and it’s only getting more weird.

Last week, poor Brit had a crazy public meltdown in a restaurant, leading everyone to wonder what the heck was wrong with her.

Now, the singer has supposedly changed her name out of the blue.

A bright one… easy does it!!! Thank you, childhood friend, I found my ball… don’t underestimate the power of purity!!! — I see right through it all… it has liquid and is wet… it’s playful and has mass!!! I changed my name to River Red!!! Yet the fire is where it illuminates… to stare at it and jump right in with no fear at all!!!! S**t. Now I have to find my FORK!!!

But, that’s not all. Britney — or, River Red? — has deleted her Instagram account — the one she takes to on the daily to post those raw and uncut dancing videos.

Britney Spears fans are so up in arms, they even called the cops to her house to do a “well check” on the singer.

According to TMZ, Brit’s disappearance from Instagram sparked concern among her fanbase, and they took it upon themselves to call the Ventura Co. Sheriff’s Office out to her house.

In case you were worried, the po-po found out that Britney “was not in any danger.”

Now, it is unclear whether they actually talked to Britney. But, they seemed to be convinced that she was okay.

Maybe we shouldn’t really worry. This is not the first time that Britney has deleted her Instagram account.

Sure, the name change is a bit weird, but it’s highly possible that Mrs. Asghari just needed a bit of a break from the social media platform.

We’ll keep you updated as we learn more.
