Forget Masks, Washing Your Hands Is The Single Best Way To Prevent Coronavirus

Coronavirus is everywhere in the news recently. It’s also cold and flu season. As Moms and Grandmothers, we worry about how to keep our kids healthy in the middle of all of this.

As scientists and health departments do studies they keep coming back to the MOST important thing we can do. Teach our children to wash their hands correctly. For that matter, to wash our own hands correctly.

Learning to keep your hands away from your face between hand washings is also an important skill. How many times a day do we rub our eyes for instance? That is just another way for those squirrelly little germs to enter our bodies.

Keeping hands washed can not only reduce your risk for Coronavirus or the Flu but most other illness as well. The CDC says that one of the most important things you can do to prevent illness is to wash your hands properly. They go as far as saying “Clean Hands Save Lives”.

There are five simple steps to washing your hands correctly.
1. Wet your hands with clean running water.
2. Lather your entire hand with soap.
3. Scrub for 20 seconds.
4. Rinse under clean running water.
5. Dry with a clean towel.

If you need a timer for 20 seconds hum the “Happy Birthday” song all the way through twice.

No one wants to see our families sick. This is such a simple way for us to keep that to a minimum. Go have a bathroom sink party and teach this right now!
