Johnny Depp Testifies About Ex-Wife Amber Heard Cutting The Tip of His Finger Off

The Johnny Depp and Amber Heard trial has been ongoing for days and it’s been hard to look away from.

In case you’ve been unaware, Johnny Depp is in court in a $50 million defamation case against his ex-wife, actress Amber Heard.

This came about after Amber wrote an op-ed for The Washington Post referring to herself as a “public figure representing domestic abuse.”

Johnny has said that he is suing Amber to clear his name after many networks including Disney, have dropped work with Johnny Depp due to the allegations against him.

The trial began earlier this week and earlier today, Johnny Depp testified regarding the incident where he claims his ex-wife, Amber Heard, threw a vodka bottle at him resulting in the tip of his finger being severed.

During the testimony, Amber Heard’s attorney asked Johnny Depp how his fingertip came to be severed.

As he answers, he explains what happened saying:

“She threw the large bottle and it made contact [with his hand] and shattered everywhere,” “Then I looked down and realized that my tip of my finger had been severed.”

He then continued saying:

“Blood was just pouring out and at that point, I think that I went into some sort of,… I don’t know what a nervous breakdown feels like but that’s probably the closest that I’ve ever been and I knew that in my mind and in my heart, this is not life. This is not life. No one should have to go through this.”

Jurors were then shown a message in which the actor allegedly admits to chopping off his own finger.

“I have chopped off my left middle finger as a reminder that I should never cut my finger off again!!” he wrote in an email to his doctor.

An audio recording was then played in which Amber’s attorney claimed Depp said: “I chopped my finger off.”

However, Johnny Depp told the court he could hear himself saying: “I got my finger chopped off.”

So, what actually happened?

Well, nobody will ever truly know but so far, Depp’s story seems plausible and he even has his medical team and body guard that seems to have witnessed the event or been around during that time.
