It seems like it’s been forever since I’ve had a garden, I do miss having one, but I don’t miss the work.

If you have a garden, then you know you are always on the lookout for things that can harm your garden.

And if you happen to see bright pink eggs, you have a serious problem!

The bright pink eggs are actually from an invasive species that can cause serious havoc in your garden.

What are pink eggs?

Pinks eggs found in your garden come from Apple Snails. Apple snails are freshwater snails, but they lay their eggs above the waterline. Even worse, the eggs have a neurotoxin on the surface that is a skin and eye irritant to humans.

The apple snail is considered one of the worst garden pests there is and can devour your plants.

But that’s not all… they also carry the rat lungworm parasite and could cause severe brain infections in humans! These can be dangerous to our pets as well.

If you see even one in your garden you need to remove them immediately before they create an infestation. Sadly, it isn’t an easy task.

How to Remove Pink Eggs From Your Garden

You can remove snails when you see them, but you also must target the eggs. Remember to protect your skin and eyes! When you remove the eggs you have to crush them to destroy them, please wear gloves.

If you have a freshwater pond or water source in or near your garden, you may want to drain it to avoid these creatures.
