Snow Day… take two?

So, yesterday, we woke up and there were already texts on my phone from my friends telling me that school was out for a snow day and did they want to move our plans up since we weren’t waiting on the school kids to get out for the day anymore…

I was so confused, I looked outside, and the it was wet, but I saw NO ice, I mean… none… there weren’t even any icecicles hanging from the cars that were sitting outside. I quickly picked up the trusty iPhone, and checked the weather bug app, it was 38… okay so why the snow day then?

I watched the news… still confused, and they started talking about how it was going to get worse much later in the day… so then why didn’t the kids go to school?

I still don’t know the answer to this, we went out and everything was fine and dandy… we went to the birthday party… a friend’s kid hit my kid (more on that later, I promise) and even drove back home with NO weather problems…

Today is a totally different story, it’s only 11:30 and the ice is just now really starting to melt… but why oh why did the school district waste their bad weather day yesterday? I used to HATE making up snow days when I was a teacher… I always felt like I had been cheated…
