Y’all this is probably one of my favorite iPhone updates yet…

Your iPhone can now identify plants just by taking a photo of it. YEP – no app download required!!

This new crazy cool feature is part of the iOS 15 and later software.

Part Apple’s software includes a feature called Visual Lookup that will do just what you need when it comes to identifying plants and flowers.

How to use your iPhone to Identify Plants and Flowers

First, start by taking a photo of a plant or flower (take a picture like you normally would).

Then, go into that picture and click the info (“i”) icon at the bottom of the screen. If it has a little star over it, tap it – this indicates there’s a Visual Lookup you can examine.

Once you click that button, you will see a little plant icon overlay the image and then you will see info of what type of plant or flower your iPhone believes it is.

For example, on my picture above, it pulled up these results:

And it’s as easy as that!

I love that I don’t need a separate app to figure out what plants and flowers are.

This is such a cool iPhone feature so if you don’t have the new iOS software, update yours and get to playing around with this feature.
