OMG! OMG! OMG! The Twilight saga might not be over! Edward Cullen might be BACK, and I just died a little — can he bring me back, please?!?
Prequels are all the rage in Hollywood right now, and the TWILIGHT saga is not immune to this craze. THANK GOD!
The studio that brought us the original Twilight series, Lionsgate, is talking about an Edward Cullen prequel.
It would follow a younger Cullen, as he battles the Spanish Flu, and ultimately dies. But, as we all know, he is brought back by one Dr. Carlisle Cullen.
The question would be, is Robert Pattinson going to reprise his role as Edward?
This is admittedly a younger Edward, so they don’t necessarily need Pattinson to play the young Edward Anthony Mason, Jr, as was his birth name.
I’m okay with that. I mean, I LOVED Pattinson’s Edward, but I’m excited to see what Lionsgate comes up with. This would be a new Edward for a new generation, and I CAN’T WAIT!
There is no word on whether the original author, Stephenie Meyer, will have a hand in writing the new prequel. In fact, we don’t know much about this film AT ALL, except it is in the planning stages.
