Queen Clarisse Renaldi played by Julie Andrews says she may not be able to reprise her role in The Princess Diaries 3.

In an interview with Access Hollywood, Andrews explained her thoughts on whether or not she could be involved in the potential sequel in The Princess Diaries series.

‘I think we know that it’s probably not going to be possible,” Julie Andrews mentioned to Access Hollywood. “It was talked about very shortly after [the second sequel] came out, but it’s now how many years since then? And I am that much older and Annie the princess, or queen, is so much older. And I am not sure where it would float or run.”

Last month The Hollywood Reporter and The Wrap cited that while Disney is making a Princess Diaries 3, Anne Hathaway has yet to sign on.

Although we do know that Hathaway is very interested in playing Queen Mia Thermopolis!

“I would more than entertain it, I’m pulling for it, — If there’s any way to get Julie Andrews involved, I think we would make it work. We would go to where she was and put a green screen behind her and just make it happen.”

Here’s hoping we have the original cast back on set sitting on their thrones!
