Candy-Dipped Valentine’s Day Oreos

Now I don’t know about you, but I’m a little tired of getting the same old heart-shaped box of chocolates every single year on Valentine’s Day. There’s only so many times you can open the box before the mystery of which chocolate contains the delicious peanut butter filling is lost because you know exactly which one it is.

I mean really, if I’m going to continue this tradition of drowning my sorrows over another year of being single with a bottle of cheap wine and enough chocolate and candy to make a trick-or-treater jealous, I should at least switch things up in the food department a bit, right? And that’s what these Candy-Dipped Valentine’s Day Oreos are for: to save me from the shame of another year with the lame box of chocolates that I bought myself. Gotta keep my dignity somehow.

How to Make Candy-Dipped Valentine’s Day Oreos:

Did I mention this recipe is super easy? Because it is super easy. I wanted nothing to get in between me and my wine, and I want the same for you, my friend. First, the package of candy melts is your friend: it will tell you exactly how to melt those things down into a pink goopy mess, which is exactly what you’re looking for. You’ll want to do this in a bowl that’s deep enough for you to dip the Oreos in. Once it’s all melted, dip away! You want only half the Oreo Thins to be dipped – they’re a lot easier to handle that way, and easy is what we need here. Place the dipped Oreo onto a sheet of parchment paper and sprinkle the – well, the sprinkles – onto the candy part. Let the candy harden up again, and that’s it! You’re ready to celebrate Valentine’s Day in style: with candy treats that you made for yourself. Remember what I said about dignity before? Yeah, I don’t really have any. But what I do have are delicious Oreos dipped in candy, so it’s all about your perspective, I guess.

Smart idea to use the Oreo thins since there's less filling and has more crunch. Although, I would probably eat them all without dipping :-)
