Carlos Santana’s Wife Shares Update After He Collapses On Stage While Performing for Fans

Did you hear about the terrifying moment that ensued when Carlos Santana collapsed on stage in front of fans during a concert the other night?

On Tuesday, Carlos Santana was on stage performing at Pine Knob Music Theater and he was bout 4 or 5 songs into his set, and started to sing a song called “Joy” when he suffered a medical emergency on stage.

Fans stated that Carlos knew something was wrong and sat down in front of the drums, and then collapsed backward.

That’s when concert staff, including EMTs rushed to his aid.

In a video recorded by a fan, Carlos was covered in a large black tarp and was wheeled off stage. At that point he seemed conscious as he waved to fans as he was ushered to receive medical attention.

We are just finding out what happened and why he collapsed on stage thanks to his wife.

Carlos Santana’s wife – drummer Cindy Blackman Santana – shared an update on her official Facebook page saying:

Hi Everyone! Carlos & I thank you so much for your prayers, love, care & concern for him! Please know that he’s resting and doing very well!

She continued:

He was diagnosed with heat exhaustion & dehydration… it was 100 degrees on stage and 114 under the lights so that coupled with not enough water is what caused the issue. He’ll be as good as new soon! Thank you again and we love you! Cindy & Carlos. 

Oh good, I am so glad he is okay. Also, such a good reminder to DRINK MORE WATER!
