Dear Parents, our kids are going to be okay.

I’ve seen your posts. I’ve seen you ask fellow parents on whether our kids are going to suffer some mental and emotional damage from the way things are right now.

I get it, I worry too.

But you know what? I don’t think they will.

Personally, I think kids will remember the good things about right now especially if that’s what we as parents, work hard to show them.

They’ll remember how you talked to them.

They’ll remember how you played with them.

They’ll remember how you held them tight and told them everything was going to be alright.

They’ll remember they had a stockpile of food and snacks to last them days (I mean, growing kids sure love food).

They’ll remember driving you extra crazy just because they could.

Our kids will remember this as that one time that mommy and daddy got to hang out at home all day, watch movies and everyone sat in their pajamas for days. It felt like an overdue slumber party.

They’ll remember the FUN.

Sure, kids are smart and yes, they may also remember this a time when they were scared. But more importantly, they will remember how YOU reacted during all of this.

It’s stressful and the uncertainty of what is to come over the next few weeks or months is unnerving but I promise, our kids will be okay.

Why am I so certain?

Because they have you as a parent. The pure fact you are worried about their well-being mentally and emotionally right now tells me you are a damn good parent.

So, stop worrying our kids are going to be ruined from this. Worry more about the way they see the world in your home today. Realize, this is a blessing in disguise and it’s up to us, to help make the best of it.

Trust me, our kids will be okay. Hugs!

P.S. I do realize this doesn’t apply to all parents since some are still needing to work outside the home. If you still have to work, we thank you and appreciate what you are doing.
