Gypsy Rose Blanchard has had one whirlwind of a week…
She got released from jail after serving seven years for her part in the death of her mother.
If you have no idea what I am talking about, let me recap for you really quickly.
Gypsy Rose Blanchard was the victim of her mother’s Munchausen by proxy syndrome.
When she was young, her mother — DeeDee — forced her into a wheelchair, and took her to doctor after doctor, claiming she had a bunch of different ailments — including leukemia, brain damage, asthma, eye problems, trouble with her salivary glands, and muscular dystrophy.
Did she really have any of these issues? No.
But, she sure got a lot of attention from the public — and that is exactly what her mother was going for.
According to Gypsy, DeeDee terribly abused her during this time, and Gypsy was willing to take drastic measures to make it stop.
Gypsy ended up hatching a plan with her (then) boyfriend to kill her mom — and they succeeded.
Her boyfriend ended up getting life in prison for actually killing DeeDee Blanchard, and Gypsy was sentenced to 8 years.
Fast forward to now.
Gypsy was released just this week, after serving 7 of the 8 years of her sentence.
She has started an Instagram page, and joined TikTok — where she has amassed an amazeballs amount of followers.
This week, Gypsy started a massive press tour, which included going on Good Morning America and The View.
The latter of which is now going viral for an awkward exchange that took place between Joy Behar and Gypsy.
Gypsy starts by telling viewers that if they are the victim of Munchausen by proxy syndrome, there are other ways out.
You are not alone in this situation. There are other ways out, and I did it the wrong way.

Joy obviously misreads the room, and isn’t really paying attention to what Gypsy is saying.
She starts to tell Gypsy that she didn’t have a choice in the matter — to which Gypsy quickly says, “I did. I did something wrong, and I paid my dues for it.”
Joy then realizes her mistake, and quickly corrects herself.
Oh, that part of it.
