If you haven’t heard the name Gypsy Rose Blanchard, you have legit been living under a rock for the past 7 years.

Gypsy Rose was famously exploited by her mother, Dee Dee Blanchard, who allegedly suffered from Munchausen by proxy.

What does that even mean?

People who suffer from Munchausen by proxy gain “attention by seeking medical help for exaggerated or made-up symptoms of a child in their care.”

In Gypsy Rose’s case, her mother claimed she had just about everything imaginable: leukemia, brain damage, asthma, eye problems, trouble with her salivary glands, and muscular dystrophy, just to name a few.

Her mother forced her to do crazy things, like use a wheelchair and to wear oxygen — even though she never actually needed them.

All this garnered massive attention from the public, which was a sort of high for Gypsy Rose’s mother.

The more attention that Gypsy Rose received, the more illnesses her mother claimed she had.

Dude. Dee Dee Blanchard even had all of Gypsy Rose’s teeth pulled at one point — something that was NOT necessary.

Gypsy Rose also alleges that she was abused by her mother behind closed doors, which led to the eventual plot to off her mom in 2015.

I wanted to be free of her hold on me, I talked him (her then boyfriend) into it.

While her then boyfriend was sentenced to life in prison, Gypsy Rose was given a ten-year sentence for her part in the murder — which she served 85% of, until her release just this week.

How did Gypsy Rose commemorate her release from prison?

Why, with an Instagram selfie, of course!!
