I don’t know about you, but I can not WAIT for the new season of The Last of Us to drop on MAX.

It has been ENTIRELY too long since we left the story of Joel and Ellie, and I have to know what happens!

There Will Be The Last Of Us Spoilers Ahead — Proceed With Caution

If you remember the finale of season 1, the Fireflies were attempting to use Ellie as their guinea pig to find a vaccine that would cure the infection that was plaguing post apocalyptic America.

That insane scenario didn’t sit too well with Joel, because he found out that the procedure would kill Ellie.

Joel ended up kidnapping Ellie from the grip of the Fireflies, and killed their leader in the process.

Now, Ellie doesn’t remember any of this, because she was unconscious at the time.

Joel lies to Ellie, telling her that the Fireflies had tried — and failed — to develop a vaccine from other immune individuals.

That’s kind of where the season ends.

Kaitlyn Dever Has Been Cast As Abby In The New Season Of ‘The Last of Us’

I am so stoked for this casting!

Kaitlyn Dever — who you know from Last Man Standing, No One Will Save You, Booksmart, and Dopesick — has been tapped to play Abby in the new season of The Last Of Us.

If you are familiar with The Last of Us video game, you will know Abby — although it is difficult to describe her without giving away too much about the plot.

According to HBO, Abby is “a skilled soldier whose black-and-white view of the world is challenged as she seeks vengeance for those she loved.”

You may not know this, but Kaitlyn Dever was up for the role of Ellie. But, that honor — obviously — went to Bella Ramsey.

So, I am so excited that we are going to get to see Kaitlyn Dever in another — very pivotal — role in upcoming The Last of Us season 2.

Nothing matters more than talent, and we’re thrilled to have an acclaimed performer like Kaitlyn join Pedro, Bella, and the rest of our family.

Now, filming hasn’t yet started for the sophomore installment of The Last of Us, but you can be sure we will update you just as soon as more information drops.
