Disney World has a new ride coming, and it’s making history. Here’s Everything We Know About The New Mickey and Minnie Ride at Disney World.
It’s called Mickey & Minnie’s Runaway Railway, and it is the very first ride to actually feature Mickey Mouse.
This new ride will be at Hollywood Studios, in the Chinese Theater. It is taking the place of The Great Movie Ride, which ended its reign on August 13, 2017.
This new ride is said to be suitable for preschool kids, kids, tweens, teens, and adults. That means, it should be more fun than super scary. It won’t be like one of the Disney thrill rides, but it will still be fun none-the-less.
Disney says that it will be like stepping into a Mickey Mouse cartoon, complete with a new catchy theme song you will NOT be able to get out of your head — you’re welcome.
The darling duo are taking a leisurely drive to a picnic in their sporty roadster—with Engineer Goofy’s train following merrily along. Plot twist—you get to go, too! Climb aboard a runaway railway and embark on a whirlwind ride through a world where the rules of physics don’t apply. Prepare for unexpected twists, slapstick gags and mind-boggling transformations at every turn, as Mickey and Minnie try to save the day.
Disney World
You won’t need 3D glasses for this ride, but it will be have some 3D characteristics. Disney is calling the technology 2 1/2D. I can’t wait!!
The best news — we finally have a date for the opening of Mickey & Minnie’s Runaway Railway — March 4 of 2020. Count me there!
Just a side note for all you die-hard Disney Fans — like me — this ride will have more hidden Mickeys than any other ride has before. It is said that, even if you ride it 100 times, you won’t find them all. That sounds like a challenge to me.
Now, it is no secret that my family loves Mickey, so having a ride dedicated to his awesomeness is going to be simply mousetastic — okay, that was cheesy.
But, seriously, we can’t wait to get to ride this ride! The kids are already binge watching the Mickey cartoons in preparation for the big opening.
We might have a new favorite ride on our hands — MOVE OVER, Peter Pan.
