M&M’s Airs First Ad After Announcing They Were Getting Rid of The Candy Mascots and It Was So Weird

Okay, can we talk about the M&M’s super bowl commercial that just aired? It was weird, right?

Now, in case you didn’t know, M&M’s announced they would be pausing the spokescandies “indefinitely” after backlash regarding giving the mascots an updated look to be more inclusive.

During that same time, they announced their new spokesperson would be Maya Rudolph.

And today during the Super Bowl, was the first time we saw her be in that role.

And honestly, it was just weird and sort of felt – forced. And I’m not the only one that felt that way…

In fact, during the commercial, towards the end, you see the red M&M candy holding a sign that says “HELP”.

Does that mean the M&M’s spokescandies are back?

People aren’t happy with this commercial at ALL.
