This Mom’s Car Seat Safety Hack Shows You How to Make the Seat as Tight as Possible
For the moms who might be struggling when trying to tighten your kid’s car seat as tight as possible, here’s how to fix that and omit the struggle.
Thanks to Joni, a mom and a nationally-certified Child Passenger Safety Technician has a hack for the kid’s seats that just won’t tighten.
Introducing a hack that shows you how to install a rear-facing convertible car seat installed with lower anchors!
During the video, Joni shows that even after installing a car seat correctly and pulling the seatbelt straps, the seat can still end up loose.
The secret? The pressure of your hip and removing the outside cover of the car seat!
By removing the outside cover near the arm rest, slid your hand through the belt path to get access to the tail of the seat belt.
Using your hip and your hand, tighten the belt from the inside and pull the strap even tighter than you normally would; the force of your hip will secure the seat tightly!
Scoot up the front seat for room to work when trying out this hack and remember to always check for less than an inch of movement at the belt path, side to side and front to back after installing!
