Thanks to one Facebook user @Madison Johnson who posted a public service announcement warning parents to refrain from using Splat hair coloring on children’s hair or any hair at all, many of the commenters completely agree.

While some have shared their horror stories of damaged hair and others had to use bleach, her post has already gained 18 thousand shares.

The reason why you shouldn’t use Splat is because the hair dye is equivalent to fabric dye which means the vibrant colors will stick around for many more days than for just one holiday, according to Ms. Madison.

She also mentioned that while the hair dye itself will fade quickly, it will however show up at the next hair salon appointment for any color or lightening service.

The hair dye is also prone to “bleeds” which means it will stain your neck, clothes, and even the bath tub says Madison Johnson!

Ms. Madison recommends alternatives to Splat such as Manic Panic which is vegan and cruelty free!

So wear a pink wig or dye your hair blue and don’t be shy to show of your style, just keep in mind to omit using Splat!
